Google’s Adopt a Startup program was set up to provide the Irish startup community with the insights and knowledge needed to help them grow their companies on a global scale. This year, over 100 startups applied for one of 30 spaces available on this year’s spring program.

Terra Liquid Minerals is a liquid mineral system inclusive of vitamins, minerals as well as magnesium required for dairy herds. They work with farmers to improve herd health using tech and automation to accurately feed minerals into the water.

Padraig Hennessy, CEO, Terra Liquid Minerals expressed his thoughts on the company being rewarded as a winner of the  Adopt A Startup 2018 spring program. He said, said “We’re extremely happy on being rewarded as the winner of Google’s Adopt A Startup program and feel it validates the hard work we’ve put into the programme over the past twelve weeks. We had set a number of Objectives and Key Results at the beginning of the program and we achieved them with significant results with the help of our team at Google.Google’s 'Adopt a Startup' Programme Winner

He further went on to say, “Our business provides smart technology to farmers across the country to ensure their herds are receiving the correct minerals on a daily basis. At the moment, one of our core objectives for the Adopt A Startup program was to increase the number of targeted hits to our website from International users to help us scale globally. We found out that of the international hits we already had, there was a high bounce rate because of our .ie domain, to combat this we started to   our website domain to different jurisdictions such as .co.uk which helped us increase the number of international visitors we had.”

Speaking at the final, Paddy Flynn, Head of Google’s Ireland startup program said: “Terra Liquid Mineral is a very good example of an innovative Irish company bringing new technologies to traditional sectors, in this case, agriculture. Terra Liquid Mineral has developed an Irish solution to a global problem. If used correctly it has the potential to be a game-changer in this sector.

The judges declared Terra Liquid Mineral as the final winners because their progress made in the 12-week mentoring program was quite impressive. Their targets were ambitious and focused on helping them scale their company and develop new sales pipelines internationally”.

To date, over 140 companies have taken part in Google’s Adopt A startup programme which forms part of Google’s commitment to the startup community in Ireland. These companies have gone on to expand, grow their employee numbers and raise significant capital funding.
