SugarCRM, a California-based customer experience innovator announced the acquisition of Node Inc., an AI platform with excellent customer intelligence capabilities. This acquisition will fuel Sugar’s time-aware CX platform with an unparalleled level of predictability across a vast array of businesses. It also gives Sugar the capabilities of forecasting expected outcomes automatically and highlighting previously unanticipated opportunities and challenges.

Through this acquisition, Sugar will surely gain a lot of AI expertise in addition to customer prediction which will help its users figure out the customers that are most-likely to make a purchase or most likely to not convert. This ability puts Sugar and its CRM in direct competition with Salesforce and Adobe.

More on the acquisition of Node Inc.

CEO of SugarCRM, Craig Charlton says obtaining an HD view of a business and customers from pipeline to forecasting is all about replacing a dated, fragmented and distorted picture with one that is focused and rich in depth and breadth. Sugar is “democratising AI”, leading a new frontier in CX with its robust combination of time-aware data enrichment and AI to drive predictability and business performances for all company sizes, he added.

CEO and founder Falon Fatemi of Node said the 2 companies have engaged commercially in the past and immediately saw that it would make sense to merge forces. Founded in 2014, Node has raised more than $43 million in funding according to Crunchbase. As a process of the acquisition, the 30 employees will join Sugar. However, Fatemi won’t join them, instead, she reports that she will be starting something new and would share more details about the same at the right time.
