First Focus IT, a Sydney-based managed service provider has announced the acquisition of Ordyss, a Brisbane-based Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) solutions provider. The Australian MSP didn’t disclose the sum at which it acquired Ordyss. First Focus IT said the acquisition will support its service desk expertise solutions, recruitment services and strategic consulting services. The deal marks the second notable acquisition completed by First Focus IT after it bought Flexnet last year.

Ross Sardi, Chief Executive Officer of First Focus said Ordyss would be deployed as the company’s Enterprise and Government Specialists. Bringing the team and services of Ordyss into First Focus lets the group offer even more customized support services and solutions in addition to and a deeper level of consulting, specifically the government and not-for-profit sectors, said Sardi. The deal also allows First Focus to expand the reach of Ordyss to become a truly national organization, with a positive presence across ANZ, he added. Sardi further added that in the acquisition decision, personal values were crucial and that Ordyss is closely aligned with the goal of First Focus to help customers better use technology.

Commenting on the deal, Keith Lavelle (Founder of Ordyss) said the acquisition will give Ordyss the support it needs to further grow while gaining access to a larger team and its skill set and services. After working for 15 years tirelessly, clients of Ordyss have come to know and trust them and with First Focus, they will continue offering their clients the same level of unrivalled commitment to superior solutions and services, Lavelle adds.

Lavelle will continue working at First Focus IT as its Head of Enterprise Accounts while Scott Jackson, Ordyss Director, will transition to General Manager.
