Steve Moros, ANZ Director of Cybersecurity at Cisco, has stepped down from his role at the company to join Proofpoint, a compliance and cybersecurity vendor. At Proofpoint, Moros will take charge of the vendor’s APAC Advanced Technology Group. 

Here, he will be leading Proofpoint’s sales and go-to-market for advanced tech products across Asia Pacific region.

Moros’s appointment comes after the promotion of ANZ Channel Director at Proofpoint, Johann Ramchandra, to a new Senior Director of Channel Sales across APAC and Japan.

The advanced technologies of Proofpoint include Cloud App Security Broker, Email Fraud Detection and Security Awareness Training, in addition to zero-trust networking and web isolation products.

About ex-Cisco boss Steve Moros

Moros started his career in 1977 as an Account Manager at Intel Corporation and worked there for 3 years. Before joining Proofpoint, he worked at Cisco for almost 21 years. He joined the company as an Account Director for Banking and Finance and became the Client Executive for Commonwealth Bank Group. He left the company as Director of Cyber Security.

Proofpoint appointed Moros looking at his passion to build awareness around security  and his focus on helping companies increase their cybersecurity resilience processes, strategies and overall capabilities around protecting their assets, data and customers.

Based out of Sydney, Moros has 20+ years of experience of working in the field of information technology and cybersecurity. He has a proven track record of driving quick new technology adoption as well as aligning go-to-market strategies in fast-moving environments.
