RTX Studio Laptops from NVidia

The leading GPU (graphics processing units) designer recently kicked off the much-awaited Computex Taipei by launching an extensive line of laptops named Nvidia Studio. So what is it exactly? It is a collection of SDKs (software development kit), APIs (Application programming interface), and drivers for Nvidia RTX GPUs. The main purpose of their design is to boost efficiency and performance in creative software.

According to Nvidia representatives, its Studio Drivers (previously known as Creator-Ready Drivers), will be tested against software from the likes of Adobe, Autodesk, Blackmagic Design, Epic, and Unity. The CUDA-X AI software can be used by app developers can make to automate certain tasks such as video colour matching or image upscaling.

Move Over, NVidia is Here to Stay

In what definitely looks like a neck-to-neck competition, seven computer manufacturers will debut around 17 RTX Studio-branded laptops at the Computex event taking place this week from Tuesday, May 28 to Saturday, June 1. The impressive list of debutantes includes offerings from companies such as Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Gigabyte, Razer, as well as MSI.

So what’s so special about these new laptops? They will have options for RTX 2060, 2070, and 2080 GPUs as well as Quadro 3000, 4000, and 5000 models from none other than Nvidia’s workstation range.

NVidia VS Apple

With this interesting announcement that is making headlines across the tech world, Nvidia is all set to take on none other than Apple. The company’s latest claims are that it has tested its yet to be named RTX Studio laptop with a Core i7 CPU as well as an RTX 2080 Max-Q GPU, finding that it was seven times faster than a top-end MacBook Pro! The best-selling Apple laptop it was being tested against had a Core i9 CPU and AMD’s Radeon Pro Vega 20 graphics in apps such as RedCine-X Pro. and Maya.

The Future Belongs to Nvidia

The new range of laptops will be aimed at creators, mainly independent artists working across areas such as digital advertising, social media and 3D development. A statement from Sue Skidmore, Head of Partner Relations for Adobe video read, “Creatives who use Adobe Creative Cloud want the most powerful hardware for their content creation, and we know they will be excited about the new RTX Studio laptops and Studio Drivers from NVIDIA.”

When can you get yours? Well, the RTX Studio laptops will be available starting from June 2019 from top PC makers. The pricing starts from $1,600 going upwards and will vary depending on partner features, designs and regions.
