Australian managed services provider (MSP) Brennan IT has won an impressive $20 million contract with Queensland-based rail freight operator Aurizon. The contract won by Brennan IT is a multi-year managed services deal that’ll provide the freight operator support for a staff of more than 4000.
The Aussie logistics company Aurizon has over 50 sites and transports 250 million+ tons of Australian commodities all over the country. Last year, as a part of its strategic plan, the freight company took the decision of looking at how it could transform its outsourced managed IT services to enable innovation and more flexibility.
Brennan IT wins Aurizon’s contract
Aurizon sought Brennan’s managed IT services through a competitive tender and will be taking its help in IT platform support services and end-user support and it will be Aurizon’s long-term managed services partner. Reportedly, Brennan IT beat several other leading IT outsourcing companies to win the contract.
After securing the contract earlier in 2020, the MSP gathered a talented team of skilled and experienced people to build a dedicated support team for Aurizon. This team also included a staff of 40 within their own business. Despite the pandemic, Brennan IT undertook the challenge of reviewing 4000+ applicants, conducting about 700 technical tests along with 200 interviews to find the best suitable candidates for the job.
With these foundations in place, the MSP worked closely with the freight operator’s internal IT team and its incumbent to refine the plan to make sure this big managed services transition and transformation would occur seamlessly, in stages, with minimum risk and business disruption.
MSP Brennan IT on winning the contract
Dave Stevens, Managing Director of Brennan IT says an alignment in ethos between it and Aurizon yielded great success. Brennan is thrilled with the outcome of the initial phase and is excited about its ongoing partnership. It provides a broad range of support and managed services to the users of Aurizon and has formed a working partnership based on trust that is set to last well in the future, Stevens added.
The partnership comes from the back of various large-scale enterprise wins for Brennan IT, with clients like Ingham, HammondCare, Mycar, Wellways, Audi, VW and McDonald. The company is now illustrating what the enterprise market has been telling it, which is an MSP that is flexible and nimble and can provide great service at scale and it is also clear that they’re looking for change and Brennan IT is perfectly positioned to help.
