One of the world’s Big Four consulting firms, Deloitte has announced that it will be acquiring a Melbourne-based Oracle specialist firm Ekulus Consulting. Effective October 1st, the Australian digital consultancy will be acquired by Deloitte Australia.

Ekulus Consulting marks its 10th year of successful operations this year and the celebration has doubled down with Deloitte acquiring the firm. It is a specialist in providing Oracle CX Cloud implementation services and is among Australia’s leading Oracle partners. Consecutively in 2018 and 2019, Ekulus was named the Oracle CX Cloud Partner of the Year Australia & New Zealand.

Deloitte Australia on acquiring Ekulus

Richard Deutsch, Deloitte Australia CEO said the pandemic has highlighted the importance of good customer service and the consulting firm has seen a high demand from clients for expertise in digital transformation. Deutsch says Ekulus’s team will help them in meeting this demand.

The “team” from Ekulus consists of employees and professionals across Sydney, Melbourne and Manila, led by Marcelo Scalia (Managing Director) and Moorthy Rengarajulu (Delivery Director). This team will now join Deloitte Australia offices in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane and Scalia will be taking over as a Partner and Rengarajulu as a Principal.

Scalia says this is an exciting new step and comes at a significant time for Ekulus. Being part of an APAC-focused international business gives Ekulus significant opportunities to expand the impact they can have helping their clients improve their customer experience.

More about Ekulus Consulting

Centered around customer experience and single customer view solutions, Ekulus Consulting is a highly seasoned and experienced technology and digital consulting firm. Its Consulting Services team is led by Information Technology professionals that have over 20 years of experience in Enterprise Application implementations. This includes Master Data Management (MDM), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Data Warehouse (DWH), Enterprise Data Quality (EDQ) and Business Intelligence (BI) solutions.

Established in 2009 by ex-Oracle employees, Ekulus started out as a boutique consulting firm in Australia and now its services are also available in New Zealand and broader parts of the Asia Pacific region.

For Deloitte Australia, the acquisition of Ekulus will consolidate its presence. What makes it even better and beneficial is that Ekulus Consulting does not just support clients with digital transformation, but also has expertise in customer experience development.

Tech acquisitions have become a near regular affair for Deloitte. Only last year Deloitte Australia acquired a Sydney-based Oracle-expert firm Presence of IT which added about 600 professionals to its roster. This team joined the Human Capital arm of Deloitte Australia and gave it a competent base to thrive in the country’s Oracle-based Human Capital environment.
