Cloud security firm Zscaler names Steve Singer as new ANZ boss

Zscaler, a US-based cloud security vendor, appoints Mr Steve Singer to lead its operations in Australia and New Zealand. Mr Steve will be replacing Mr Budd Ilic who joined Zscaler in November 2018. Ilic has moved to the role of Regional Director for Government at Zscaler and he will remain in Sydney which is the company’s regional hub.

Singer will be reporting to Vice President of Zscaler’s Asia Pacific and Japan region, Scott Robertson. Singer will be based in Sydney and his responsibilities will include continuing growth of the cloud security vendor’s purpose-built cloud-based security solutions among public and private sector enterprises and expanding relationships with local partners, according to a company statement.

Just before joining the cloud security vendor, Singer was the ANZ Country Manager at Talend. Prior to working at Talend, he worked at NetSuite for 5 years during which he held various Senior Executive roles. He also worked at Salesforce in corporate sales as an Account Executive for various years.

On being hired as the ANZ leader for Zscaler, Singer said there’s no other cloud security vendor as uniquely placed as Zscaler today. The vendor is 100% focused on developing comprehensive and innovative solutions for cloud security, he adds. The year 2020 has seen the workplace transform which resulted in new demands for groundbreaking security for distributed workforces, he further added. Singer believes that it is an exciting time to join the security vendor and he looks forward to helping the customers undergo smooth digital transformation that’s underpinned with next-generation cloud security and results in new opportunities and gives them a competitive advantage.

Scott Robertson commented on the appointment of Singer saying the successful track record of Steve as a Sales Leader in Cloud Transformation along with his focus on customer success makes Singer the ideal leader to further help customers achieve. He will also help the company’s clients achieve their digital business goals via Zscaler’s cloud-native and industry-leading approach to security. Simultaneously, he will also support the acceleration of Zscaler’s growth in the region, Robertson said.

Zscaler is an American cloud security vendor and information security company. The vendor is headquartered in California and was founded in the year 2007 by K. Kailash and Jay Chaudhry. The vendor offers network transformation solutions (SD-WAN Security, Direct-to-cloud Architecture and Office 365) and security transformation solutions (Advanced Threat Protection, Machine Learning Security, Secure Web Gateways, Cloud Protection and Ransomware Protection). It also offers app transformation solutions like Zero Trust Exchange, SSL Inspection, Secure Third-party Access, Remote Access VPN, M&A and Divestitures and much more.
