The flagship developers conference by GovTech, Stack 2020 is here for its next run and this time, they’re going virtual. Stack is the largest developers conference organized and led by GovTech Singapore in support of Smart Nation Singapore. It is one of the most awaited tech events in the world and is held in Singapore. It is a 3-day tech event full of keynotes, conversations and workshops about the most recent industry trends and innovations in Applications, Cloud, AI, IoT, UX/UI and much more. 

Stack conference is going online in 2020 but with the same level of excitement and opportunities for learning as well as collaborations. If you already know about this conference, you probably must be looking forward to the event and want to know when the event is scheduled to go live. However, if you aren’t familiar with the Stack event, here’s everything you need to know about Stack 2020 and the event in general.

Stack 2020 event dates & ticket prices

Stack 2020 will be held virtually from 1st December 2020 to 3rd December 2020. Registration for the Stack event is for free, but if you want to attend additional workshops, different costs per workshop will be applicable. Once you register for the event, you’ll immediately receive a confirmation mail from the Stack 2020 team. The event link will be sent across to you via email a week before the event.

Stack 2020 Agenda

To give you a brief idea about what your 3 days at the virtual conference will look like, following is the agenda of Stack 2020 as per its official website:  

Day 1 (1st December): This day will be all about technical workshops. You can book a seat for yourself for the conferences by paying a small amount. The option to do so is available on the registration page itself. Some of the many workshops organized are –

  1. “UX and Why It Matters To You” by Cheryl Wong (UX Designer, GovTech) and (Eunice Chan, UX Designer, GovTech)
  2. “Become a Good Scrum Master, How?” by Joshua Lai (Agile Coach and Scrum Master, Thales Digital Factory), Wan Siew Onn (Scrum Masters’ Partner, AskOne) and Marc Gong (Senior Director IES, Agile Practice Lead, SAP) 
  3. “Zero to Kubernetes” by Daniele Polencic (Instructor, Learn K8s)

Day 2 (2nd December): Following the opening address, expect a line up of exceptional keynotes, tech talks, live Q&A sessions and on-demand videos. Listen to extraordinary minds like Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan (Minister of Foreign Affairs), Martin Fowler (Chief Scientist at ThoughtWorks) and Jeff Barr (Chief Evangelist and Vice President of Amazon Web Services) talk about the latest trends in technology.

Day 3 (3rd December): The third day at the Stack conference will also be full of insightful conversations and keynotes from some of the greatest technologists around the world. Below are the details of few of the many talks scheduled:

  1. “The Unicorn Project and The Five Ideals” by Gene Kim (Founder, IT Revolution) 
  2. Panel Discussion on the topic “Building Digital Organisations” with Ng Chee Khern (Permanent Secretary, Smart Nation and Digital Government), Greg Pryor (Senior VP, People and Performance Evangelist, Workday) along with Moderator (Kok Ping Soon, Chief Executive, GovTech)
  3. “Developing Applications with Kubernetes” by JJ Asghar (Developer Advocate, IBM)
