According to the latest HR news, the British consumer healthcare company has named Gurveen Singh as the global head of human resources.

Born in India, Singh currently RB’s head of HR for developing markets based in Dubai is expected to succeed Deborah Yates. A management graduate from Jamshedpur, Singh has been in her current role for almost three years, prior to which she was regional head of human resources head for South Asia.

RB said that the heads of information technology, developing markets, category development, and human resources are leaving. Each was a member of the senior executive committee.

Vibhav Dhawan, executive search firm Positive Moves said that “Singh has the breadth of experience across developed and emerging markets, having thrived in a very aggressive and challenging, yet successful, culture at RB.”

Other Indian officials in such global leadership roles within HR are Tanuj Kapilashrami, global head of talent at Standard Chartered Bank, and Leena Nair, senior vice president for leadership and organisation development at Unilever.

The new global HR head takes over as Reckitt Benckiser integrates the acquisition of US baby foods maker Mead Johnson, amidst the various challenges. According to the company, ‘volatility’ in India due to the implementation of GST and recent cyber-attacks across the world have impacted its business. Due to this, RB downgraded its global sales growth forecast to 2% from 3%.
