Recently appointed as the Chief Executive Officer, Kalyan Krishnamurthy takes charge of HR responsibilities at Flipkart. All key portfolios of the HR department and finance are under his overview, along with CFO Sriram Venkataraman now reporting directly to him.

It is not only the HR and finance departments, but also the other key teams such as category design management, private labels, customer shopping, and marketing will also continue reporting to him. Ravi Garikapati, the engineering team head will also report to him.

According to the HR updateNitin Seth, who joined the company as the chief people office last year from Fidelity International, continued to handle HR after he was promoted to chief administrative officer and chief operating officer. His other responsibilities include heading Ekart, which is the logistics division of the company, customer experience, strategy-to-execution capabilities, and corporate functions.

A Flipkart spokesperson told ET, driving the people agenda and enhancing Flipkart’s winning organisation has always been one of their top priorities. Towards this end, Kalyan will be looking after the people function. Meanwhile, the company is in search of an HR specialist who can report to Krishnamurthy.

One of India’s leading online marketplace Flipkart recently raised $1.4 billion funding from Tencent, eBay, and Microsoft. The investment by eBay is accompanied by a strategic commercial agreement by this company. In exchange for an equity stake in Flipkart, the former company is making a cash investment in and settling its India business to it.
