The fintech firm’s newly created position plays a key role in its revamped global strategy which places its APAC markets in the spotlight. The company’s management is pleased and excited to have Marian Azer join their team.
Welcoming Marian Azer at Milestone Group
The Sydney-based investment technology provider announced the appointment of Marian Azer as Managing Director for the Asia Pacific (APAC). She will directly report to London-based CEO Paul Roberts who stated that the Australian-headquartered Milestone Group has channelled significant energy into becoming a globally recognized player, innovator and industry leader in key disciplines. He praised Azer’s background, expertise, commitment to innovation, and collaborative approach, claiming it to be an ideal combination for strengthening the company’s presence and value. Welcoming her on board the management team, Roberts said it was an exciting time for Azer to lead their APAC and Australian business as they begin a new chapter of sharing international capabilities and solutions with the market for clients and investors.
Azer will be responsible for market engagement, client success and go-to-market strategies across the APAC region. The announcement made earlier this week indicated a particular emphasis on the Australian and New Zealand markets. The Milestone Group provides operational technology, which includes asset allocation technology and fund accounting to global investment managers. The global player’s clients include big names such as Jupiter, Generali and BNY Mellon.
The woman of the moment: About Marian Azer
Azer brings with her a treasure trove of experience in financial services across a range of complementary and relevant disciplines. This includes roles focused on fund management, investment consulting and operations as well as superannuation. Acknowledging her appointment, Azer stated that she witnessed the Milestone Group growing and evolving over the years and had always been impressed by the way it thinks differently to solve industry challenges. She is delighted to be leading the effort to seek fresh ideas, approaches and opportunities to add value along with time asset owners, managers and servicers.
Until recently, she held the position of Managing Director at RBC Investor & Treasury Services (RBC I&TS). There she was responsible for the APAC and global middle office product functions. She left RBC I&TS after the bank sold its Australian custody business to Citi recently. Azer also served as the Chief Operating Officer, global client coverage for Australia. Previously, she was Head of Product, investor services in Australia & New Zealand at J.P. Morgan Chase, and has held senior roles at BNP Paribas and Mercer in the past.
