On the other hand, gamers are looking forward to new releases from their favorite gaming titles each year. Is 2022 going to be any different? The answer is yes. We are going to see a lot of changes in terms of how game studios will operate this year as the dust of the pandemic settles down.

1. Ghostwire: Tokyo

  • Available on: Windows PC, Playstation 5
  • Price: $40 on Amazon

Ghostwire: Tokyo is Tango Gameworks shot to fame. The developer, which got significant recognition after the release of the Evil Within series has etched its place in the hearts of many in the gaming world after making Ghostwire: Tokyo.

The game takes us to the beautiful and wet streets of Tokyo which are haunted by each and every vengeful spirit you can think of in the Japanese mythical and fantasy world. Although the grind could poke in some degree of frustration, the smooth first-person animation and evocative enemy designs make up for it. In this game, you have to take down the demons before you go celebrate with a healthy mochi. In a nutshell, if you ever imagine Japan in the middle of an apocalypse, this game would be an accurate depiction of that.

2. Nobody Saves the World

  • Available on: Xbox One, Windows PC
  • Price: $25

Typically in an RPG, your main character’s future is determined by the second or the third time it has leveled up. We are so used to allocating talent points to dexterity and strength and believe we will have to start playing the game all over again if we want to roll a mage.

Nobody Saves the World solves this problem. The main character of the game which is called Nobody can morph into different characters, ranging from a ranger, warrior, dragon, and more. Every form brings with it a bunch of different abilities which need to unlock. You can switch between different forms as you please, taking its gaming experience to the next level.

3. Rainbow 6 Extraction

  • Available on: Xbox Series S/X, Xbox One, Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Windows PC
  • Price: $40

This game feels gives off the generous expansion pack vibes. Rainbow 6 extraction has the same characters and arsenal as Ubisoft’s revered first-persin shooter Rainbow 6 Siege. Having said that, the squad-based multiplayer is replaced by an alien-ridden, unnerving, and horrific alien apocalypse. If you are hungry for some enthralling co-op action, your eyes should be on this game this year.

4. Strange Horticulture

  • Avalable on: Windows PC
  • Price: $15

The name is simple and straightforward, and yes, you will be dealing with a lot of plants. In this game, a host of customers enter your facility, requesting certain “herbal remedies”. You will then turn to a dusty tome of botanical recipes before giving your customers their specimen of choice. Although this may seem boring to many, Strange Horticulture requires an acquired taste. This game will certainly tickle your intellect and that is why we have added it to our list of the best games in 2022.

5. Elden Ring

  • Available on: Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, Windows PC
  • Price: $50

The game developer of this game has spent around a decade developing some of the best single-player action games we have ever seen. Some of these popular games include Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Dark Souls. That is one stellar list of games and FromSoftware has given us another gem – Elden Ring.

Elden Ring takes it up a notch and can easily be considered the company’s boldest evolution so far. It is an open-world game that is designed to test your skills, understanding of game mechanics, and everything in between. Every pixel on the screen has a story to tell and draws you into a world of its own filled with different environments, bosses, and other characters.

Other games to watch out for in 2022

While the games covered in our best games in 2022 pack a punch, there are plenty of other titles that are up there in terms of gameplay, graphics, storyline, engagement, and more. No matter how hard we try, we cannot overlook some of the popular games of 2021 and their grandeur.

Games such as GTA V, Fortnite, Red Dead Redemption II, and SpiderMan will continue to have a following of their own. Each year, we will see an influx of new games being released, but some of the older titles will continue to reign supreme around the world.
