Australian intellectual property protection and rights agency IP Australia is sad to announce the departure of its Chief Information Technology Officer, Rob Bollard. The agency is on a hunt to figure out who will step in Bollard’s shoes. Currently, Graeme Jones will be the interim CIO and Group General Manager for Innovation and Technology.

About Rob Bollard

Rob Bollard joined Pegasystems as its Director, Industrial Principal of Public Sector APAC in September post spending almost 2 decades at IP Australia. Bollard spent about 2.5 years as its CIO and Innovation and Technology Group General Manager. 

He also has 16+ years of experience in various other roles at this agency which include 3+ years as the General Manager of the Right In One Program and the Director of Business Process Improvement and Customer Operations Group’s General Manager.

The next CIO who’ll join IP Australia will be responsible for the agency’s IT direction and its 2022 IT strategy that will set a direction for technology capability at the agency. The CIO will also be expected to report to the agency’s Policy and Corporate Digital Deputy Director-General. 

Additionally, the SES Band 1 Level Executive will also have to be an authoritative source of advice on cyber security. The applicants should be experienced, forward thinking leaders who demonstrate deep subject matter expertise and passion in strategic ICT delivery risks.
